First birthday party suggestions?!

My Daughter is one at the end of May and everyone.. Mostly the mother in law have been asking what were doing. I hadn't really thought about it much.. She has a few baby friends from people I met at ante natal groups so thought about inviting them around for sort of play session.
What sort of things did you do for your little ones first birthday?
Looking for suggestions on things to do and also food ideas..

Any help would be great!

She won't be bothered really. You can have other babies round if you like but at that age they don't really play together. Parties at that age are for the adults iyswim. A cake and a couple balloons is all you need until they hit about 4 or 5 I think.

My DS is one at the end of May too. I think 1st birthdays are really for the adults! Im inviting a few NCT friends with their babies, family and a few close friends and am having an afternoon tea (sandwiches, cakes-,some sugar free ones for the little ones and strawberries) and a few bottles of fizz to celebrate!.
