Looking for cheap 'party bag' type fillers for a Jubilee street party. Any ideas?

Our neighbourhood is having a street party for the jubilee and we're hoping to have around 60 children attending.

We thought it would be nice for the children to have something to take away with them so someone has sourced the main souvenir item but we're looking to include a few cheap bits and bobs incl. sweets.

Has anyone seen anything along the lines of union jack/jubilee pencils, fridge magnets etc -the cheaper the better!

I wondered if maybe Poundland and similar places has anything? What have the Supermarkets got?

Thanks

all the pound shops are selling stuff but only seen banners, bunting etc.

for the wedding last year we picked up personalised bookmarks to commerate the wedding for about 50p each ... personalised with the school name but I guess you could add your street name / local area instead. google might bring up something. but if I find the page we used I'll link to it.

Primark has loads of stuff

NorbertDentressangle · 25/04/2012 21:59

Thanks for suggestions.

Does Primark just have clothing type things though? Or is there anything suitable for children of all ages?

Not all clothing I don't think, but may be more suited to older children. I do know they had earrings, deelyboppers, hats, little purses....I just remember seeing a sea of red white and blue accessories Smile

Do you have a 'what shop' in your area?
They have loads of cheap party bag fillers

NorbertDentressangle · 26/04/2012 20:19

I've never heard of 'what shop' - I tried googling to find where they're located but couldn't even find a website.

Are they like a poundshop?

The works normally have that sort of thing. Alternatively you could get blank key rings/coasters from somewhere like Baker Ross and they could design their own jubilee souvenir.

stealthsquiggle · 27/04/2012 09:15

Baker Ross have tons of Jubilee stuff - a whole catalogue full of it.

ooh yes I'd forgotten about Baker Ross, thank you -off to have a look....
