could you go for a funky handbag or purse given that she's probably going out and about with friends more now. I bought my 13yr old niece a rather funky bag by anna (can't remember the surname) on amazon. It came up after a search for "pauls boutique" and was alot cheaper.

Vouchers as above, maybe WH Smith for stationery. One that is good that my dd has received a couple of times is a Post Office 'one for All' voucher/card. Can be used in a variety of shops, eg New Look, Smiths, Boots, Argos, and many more that I can't remember! If she is anything like my daughter, they are beginning to browse through shops, and enjoy a little bit of independence.

I know cash can feel like a cop-out, but again, at this age, they like to have their own money to spend when out and about with parents/friends, or they often are saving up for something special.

A lot of DS' friends seem to like Costa / Subway vouchers so that they can treat themselves to lunch / coffee when in town shopping - a step up from the chippy / McDonalds

have to say - wouldn't mind all these gifts myself!! loving the costa suggestion too
