Apologies for anyone who's already seen this in Chat - I'm just rushing so hoped someone would see it somewhere and answer!!

In a nutshell - have you ever done party food for children in those Happy Meal-style boxes? Did it save you much in the way of time and effort? Or did you just end up wasting loads because the children didn't like half of their allocated food?

Trying to do DS2's party in as labour-saving a way as possible and want to explore every option!

yes have used boxes.

I used / prepared a lot less food than I would if it was a buffet. I only put the savoury and drink in the box. bringing out a platter of chocolate biscuits / cake after.

I sent the food boxes home with the children if they hadn't finished. Thus no major washing up of buffet plates; finding storage for uneaten food etc.

I choose this option now or serve hot dogs then the chocolate platter.

Yes they are quite handy. I put a satsuma in as the token healthy thing. Most kids don't touch them so they just go back in the fruit bowl afterwards.
