My dd is having a party for her 4th birthday, this is the first party she has had.It is at a local soft play place and she has invited 29 nursery friends. Now I have another week left until the rsvp date but only 8 parents have replied up till now. What I am wondering is this the norm and do some parents not reply until the last minute?

Unfortunately it is the norm. You need to ask around at pick up, use the class list - whatever you can to chase people. Just because they haven't RSVP'd, doesn't mean they aren't going to show up on the day with siblings and expecting multiple party bags.

Can I suggest that next year you do the thing of just providing the date and time on the invite, with "RSVP for more information" and only tell them where it is when they contact you Wink as it takes the stress out of it.

youchangewiththeweather - what a brilliant idea!!! Alas i saw this 1 week too late for my DD's party & now resigned to my 7th "big" party with only the usual rsvps & major panic of "will there be a dozen, or 3 dozen with siblings?"!
