Best place for ten-pin bowling with kids in South London?

DD2 wants to take 3 friends 10-pin bowling for her 7th birthday.

Where's good in South London?

We probably wouldn't need a birthday 'package' as it's a tiny group. Just somewhere nice, bright and clean.

There used to be somewhere near the IKEA off the Purley way. The others are I think in Lewisham and Orpington.

Thanks spendthrift, I'll look into those. Have you been to the Croydon one?

We're in Clapham - anyone know anywhere good a bit closer to us?

Haven't been to the croydon one if different. There used to be a nice quiet shabby one in Purley but alas, its balls are quiet, alleys gone...

The Orpington one is a bit meh because of the car park.

Surrey Quays & Croydon are probably a similar distance from us.

Anyone tried the one in the delightful Elephant & Castle?

I like the Croydon one if it's still as it was a couple of years ago - it's in a big complex with lots of glitzy arcade game areas and steak houses, so has a celebratory feel to it. Also there is a big choice of crap places to eat on the same estate plaza.

Smaller and shabbier - David Lloyd, Raynes Park, SW19.

Yes, DD had her 12th birthday at the E&C Grin

We took 15 girls by bus, they had one game and we caught the bus back for pizza and cakes at home. It is fine in there, easy to get to and cheaper than Surrey Quays Wink
