40th birthday presents

Hello. My friend is 40 in a couple of months and I want to get a really nice pressie. My budget is £40. She's very glam, but has quite specific tastes, quite adventurous. ANyone had any presents given that were a bit different that they really liked? Just wnat to get organised now rather than doing a panic buy the day before! Thanks.

I was given 40 presents by my friends. There was everything from pens, notebooks, flower seeds, stamps, stickers, sweets, purple bin bags, flower pots.

You could treat her to a special lunch/afternoon tea/theatre trip.

If you're looking for a present to keep: handcrafted jewellery, a posh pen, ornament, plant or tree for the garden.

For a more personal touch - framed photo or album of pics of happy times.

If she has very specific tastes (like me), I'd be inclined to buy her vouchers for her fave department store. She could buy herself an expensive candle etc etc.

I have to say I would hate the 40 presents idea...but then I am always recycling gifts
