Treasure Hunt

Hi My DS is having a party at the weekend in a hall for 20 liveley 4/ 5 year olds. Planning on doing lots of the usual pary games but thought about doing a treasure hunt too. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this. Thought I could do clues that need to be read by an adult but not sure if this will keep everyone's attention. Please could anyone give me any ideas as I am very disorganised or any hunts that have worked for this age group.

Many thanks

By treasure hunt do you mean 'spray the garden with chocolate coins' or something more elaborate?

Make picture cards and ask them to find the things - works better than a treasure hunt with clues at that age.

It will be inside the hall so not so easy to hide choc coins so hoping to do something elobarate but do think it is best to stick to pictures for clues?

What we've done in the past is to make a list (pictures, not words) of things they have to find e.g. a worm (you can use a jelly worm), a wand etc and then once they find all the things, you do a magic spell and turn them into sweets.

Quite easy at that age, you just need a container, a false black top that you make out of card and a black pashmina - hide the sweets under the false black tio.
