Dd will be 9 soon. She wants to have a proper games party with kids from her class who are all the same age .. boys and girls! I wanted to have some sort of mini olympics type theme with children perhaps getting scores from invidual games and at the end giving prizes to them all instead of party bags. Anyone got any fail safe games for this age or some tried and tested party ideas for this age group. about 16 of them in a small hall near us?

Two teams, piles of clothes (hat, gloves, coat, scarf, wellies) at one end of hall, teams at the other.

Allocate a person to be dressed, the others have to run, one at a time, to grab an item of clothing, run back, dress the person. Next one goes etc. When all the clothes are on, the whole team runs to the end of the hall.

Mini assault course - hop over hula hoops, flap a piece of paper with a flip flop, crawl under a blanket, skip a few feet, bounce a ball ten times, run with a balloon between your knees. Time them - say a minute to complete the course.

It's fun at parties in the kbear house!

Target practice games might be god at that age - thowing balls or bean bags into a box / hoop or onto a target?
