DD is having about 9 girls over for 2 1/2 hours from 5 to 7:30 on a Saturday in the next few weeks. She wants to 'hang out' with them and have pizza, play on wii etc. My question is can I let them get on with it? in the past we have had party games etc but she seems happy to not have anything planned. Also do I do party bags/gift on leaving still? Any experience of this age would be greatly received. She seems to have grown up such a lot in her first term at secondary.

Yes it's a weird age. I think my DD had a roller skating party at 12. That way they all kept moving, it seemed to help somewhat.
Sorry that doesn't help you does it?

I had one for my dd 12th a couple of months ago,I just provided the dominoes pizza, snacks ect then they tolddled off upstairs with hair straighteners/curling tongs, makeup dvds and holed up in the bedroom, all I heard were shrieks of laughter and saw the interesting results of makeup attempts.

I'd do a goody bag on arrival - with a lipgloss and eye liner or something similar so they can experiment.
