Am getting married in June, we can't afford a sit down meal and evening do so we're just having an evening do, with a buffet for about a hundred people. There's not a lot of room to sit down properly so things that are fairly easy to eat (not too messy!!) but also nice? The hotel and chef have said they'd like some ideas from us as it is 'our wedding' pft, thought they would have come up with some suggestions to be honest!!!
So just wondering what nice things you lovely people have been impressed by at a buffet??? We'd rather not have bog standard sandwiches, sausage rolls and chicken drumsticks as it is a special day :)

When we got married (although it was winter, maybe not so good for summer wedding) we just had a huge pot of Irish stew with crusty bread followed by chocolate brownies, everyone seemed to love it. Really easy to eat, everyone just stood around with bowl and fork in hand.

For a more traditional buffet a whole salmon always looks impressive, asparagus wrapped in pancetta, mini quiches, little skewers with olives, cheese, chorizo.

I'd go for awimbaways traditional buffet, sounds yummy and a very posh version of our Wedding.
We were students, standard quiche and salad in the village hall was our limit.
I've had hot food of a buffet at a summer wedding, it felt a bit school canteen.
