Quick craft for 12 8 year olds!

My DD's 8th birthday party is in 2 weeks time, and while most of the time is accounted for I think there may be a little while near the start in which they could do a quick and simple craft. It also has to be cheap! Any ideas?

Could they ice some fairy cakes with their choice of colour for the icing and different kinds of sprinkles? They could have 2 each so that they could take one home and have one during the tea.

Plain party bags, stickers, glittery marker pens.
Get them to collect them at the end for their cake and a lucky dip mini chocolate bar.
