First Communion gift for God-daughter?

My god-daughter is having her first communion next weekend. I am not catholic so I dont know if there is anything special that I am traditionally meant to buy her for this occasion. I would like to get her jewellery if that would be appropriate - or should it be something religious. Cant ask the family as they are all away on hols and the lovely Irish/Catholic gift shop we had nearby has closed....so am in a bit of a panic!

Any ideas? Thanks!

Jewelery would be very appropriate. Smile

As would a wad of cash, I was surprised to discover. DS1 did very well financially from Irish relatives at his first communion. (I married into an Irish Catholic family)
