Please help me! My DH has to arrange his annual boys weekend away and he needs a theme for the Saturday night! I've tried my best but he poo poos everything I say so eventually I said I bet Mumsnet can come up with something! Previous years have had 70s pop stars, James Bond, 80s break dancers - you get the picture! Any thoughts??? Please!!! Thanks in advance!

Like that one Folk - will remember that.

SarkyLady · 23/05/2011 22:00

Ooh 'famous people who share your first name' would be a nightmare for me. Can only think of a radio 4 presenter:)

SlinkyB · 23/05/2011 22:01

What about choosing a letter and having to fancy-dress in something beginning with that letter? (have heard of 'P' parties for example, where people come as pimps, priests, popstars, pineapples?!). 'Where's Wally?' also seems a popular fancy-dress theme at the moment too...

supadupapupascupa · 23/05/2011 22:03

scooby doo

ithaka · 23/05/2011 22:09

Sporting legends (we have done that and had everything from Jocky Wilson to Shergar)
Pirates
Posh totty

Valpollicella · 23/05/2011 23:24

Hanna Barbera cartoons Grin

heymammy · 27/05/2011 22:10

Drag queens Grin

DoubleDegreeStudent · 06/06/2011 22:51

Alter ego?
Childhood ambitions?
Not sure if it would work as well for this situation but a friend had a fancy dress party and the theme was shipwrecked - boys bought cheap suits and ripped them/generally trashed them, or wore armbands and life jackets/made little skirts out of bits of sacking (and novelty coconut bras of course).

stealthsquiggle · 06/06/2011 22:58

dress as an adjective? it's hard to theme the rest of the party, though..

I like the letter idea.

or (boringly) a beach party?
