We've decided we're not doing a "proper" party for DS1 this year. He's asked if he can have his cousins for a sleepover, which is great and we'll do tea and cake then.
He has asked though if we can do something with his four best friends (they seem to run as a group no one special friend) and has suggested the cinema, which is OK with me but,
-Do I also need/ would you expect me to feed them?
-If I take them to the nearby McDonalds (I know, but it's a one off) are they too old for Happy Meals/ would they expect to be offered an adults meal?
-Can I do without the dreaded party bag? (as it's not a party)
-Cinema timings aren't released until the week before. Would it be OK to send text invitations, via the mums only 1 week beforehand? (accepting that might mean some can't come)
I was thinking I'll give each child a bag of sweets and a drink to take into the cinema, then we could go to either McDonalds or Pizza Hut. I think I prefer McDonalds, simply because it will be over quicker! What do you think?
