Hello Kitty party theme for 8 year old?

I like to have a party theme for DD's birthday party. She will be 8 years old and I was thinking of "Hello Kitty" invites, party bags, even a cake! But was wondering if "Hello Kitty" was too young for 7-8 year olds?

What do you think?

I know one girl of that age ( yr 3) who would think she was in hello kitty heaven at such a party.
It'll be fine.

Oooh not sure - have just given a Hello Kitty writing set to a 5-yr-old for her birthday and was panicking that she was too young! But I find it hard to judge as my 5-yr-old dd1 only likes pirates....

I'm 23 and LOVE Hello Kitty Grin

I know grown women and also teenagers who love Hello Kitty. (Odd, IMO, but there you go!)

But why don't you just ask her?

Thanks for the replies. So it sounds like Hello Kitty will be fine as a party theme.

I can't ask DD as she has special needs and is what I can only describe as "unwordly"
She is not up on the latest craze ( we are a Justin Beiber free zone as a result!) So it makes it difficult for me to make sure that I chose something appropriate.

I think Hello Kitty would be nice. If you want some ideas take a look at:

and if you want ideas about justin bieber take a look at:

I think hello kitty is more appropriate for an 8 year old.

Be reassured, my BF's DD loves Hello Kitty and she's 8 Smile.

DD had HK at your 7th birthday last month, and it was very popular with her friends. Sainsburys has party plates, napkins etc.

my dd had a hello kitty for her 8th birthday party and all her friends loved it - some were 9

I just did it for a six year old and it was a huge success. However, at the end dd did say she'd like High School Musical next year. So bear that in mind. Why don't you just ask your dd?
