Naming Ceremony

Has anyone had a Naming Ceremony?

What did you do re decorations? We are having it at a hotel and they are just providing white table cloths so I was thinking of doing:

Cake
Flowers (maybe an arrangement for cake table?)
Helium balloons as centre pieces

Is this what people normally do?

pdr Can i piggy back this...

are you doing it through a church or something or is there a way to have a naming ceremony with kind of a registrar?

Chicken or goat for live sacrifice
Sticks for bonfire
hallucinogenic roots for guests to chew afterwards
the hotel is not taking this seriously enough

Of course cupcake! We're getting a Humanist guy to officiate but there may be other ways?

Funny Catinthehat because in my husbands culture you absolutely would slaughter a goat for such an occasion! Don't think it would go down well here in Devon though. And the blood might ruin the White tablecloths.
