Anyone know Norwich pretty well? Looking for a party venue for PIL joint 60th?

PIL live just outside Norwich and both turn 60 this June/July.

I'm trying to organise a party for them although we live in the midlands and I don't know the area well.

Am thinking probably about 50 ish guests (adults and children) maybe a buffet, maybe a simple sit down meal. (although happy to get external caterers if venue doesn't do catering)

Does anyone know any nice halls/ pubs/ cafes/ venues that might do a private hire or have a function room.

Budget not a particular issue probably not much more than £2000

Which side of Norwich do they live in, which side of Norwich will most the guests be travelling from?

I suspect somewhere near Wymondham would suit you.

They live south east of the city just off the a416. But guest coming from all over thecounty to be honest so anywhere within abouthalfan hour of Norwich would be good.

Tbh any suggestions would be a start. DH and Dsil who were both born and bred in Norwich are drawing a blank!

You could try one of the National Trust houses, Blickling Hall is lovely and only 20 mins from Norwich.
My DH's firm has their Xmas bash somewhere out of town where the food is quite good, will ask him when he is around.

Or Delia's place at Carrow Road (football club). The food is very good there,

The Assembly House is nice
Dragon Hall is amazing and can be hired - nearly had our wedding bash here
Dunstan Hall looks impressive but food a bit iffy at times

Blicking is a PITA to get to from the south side of Norwich (imho).

SomerLeyton Hall would be reasonably convenient.

Dunston Hall on the A140.

Caistor Hall.

Stoke Mill.

That big hotel near Tesco on the A140... Ramada or somesuch?
