We've got about 120 people coming to ours for a party on New Years Day (2 to 5ish) - half adults, half youngish kids. And I'm now starting to feel rather scared.

I've organised for 4 teenagers to come and help out. Generally, my dh and I run around like blue arsed flies but this year we thought we'd try to share the load. But I want to use them well. So, my quesion is, what do you think is the best way to deploy them? One making tea? One handing out alcohol? One clearing up? One serving food? Or all just pitching in with a list of things they need to look out for? Any ideas will be gratefully recieved.

You are mad!

I'd start with one taking coats/hats as guests arrive.
One making hot drinks - tea/coffee
One handing out other drinks - wine, etc
One supervising the food area - clearing and replenishing

Will there be children at the party? If so, perhaps your helpers should supervise activities of the children?

Good luck!

I think if you are getting teenagers to help you will need to tell them exactly what to do (voice of experience).

What earlybird said and also washing-up in between.

If you went to a restaurant or hotel, each employee would be doing his/her job, and not just all pitching in. I think that specific jobs for specific people is the best way to go, otherwise the buck will be passed.
