My soon to be 6 year old son has decided he would like to have a Wallace and Gromit style Inventing Party! I would love to hear some suggestions and ideas from mumsnetters please!
Am thinking along the lines of storing up vast amounts of toilet roll ends, cardboard boxes, egg boxes etc between now and party time!

Oh that is the ultimate party!

Where about are you (if you need some empty boxes and other recycled contribution?)

I think once you have everything, just let them loose with it and lots of glue or give a very general theme like "space" . I would advise you to have wipes at the ready for all the little hands as well.

OMG!

WHat a brave mummy you are Smile

How many children will there be and how many adult helpers? Children's visions of what they want to make usually far exceed their skills Smile

up north! Thanks for the offer, but should be able to get more than enough via work.
He is very much into space rockets and satellites so i think your theme idea would work very well. Think i might hire the village hall rather than have it at home though! Including his sister I think they'll be about 10 kids.

and maybe 4 adult helpers!

Sounds great, how far up North I want to come! (not to help mind, to get messyGrin)

Oh was just thinking, I did at one point collect colourfull bottle tops to do craft at toddler group, they are a fantastic addition to cardboard (they can be lights, buttons...)

yes,
I think it going to be VERY messy! But such good fun!
The hardest bit will be the politics - he wants to invite everyone in his class (20) but not the 2 he doesn't like. Think I'll give him the choice of either whole class or half class!
