6 of us adults for New Years Eve at my house (dcs asleep upstairs) - what can we do to liven up the evening (and keep it clean please)

Friends invited us and some mutual friends to theirs last News Years Eve - it was a great night. The blokes did a 'ready steady cook' competition ( I baulked at dh's creation of frankfurters and ice cream), and we also had a mini Mrs and Mrs quiz (sounds corny - was a bit, but also very funny). Anyway a fun time was had by all

Now we have everyone over to us this New Years Eve and I want it to be more than just a run of the mill dinner with friends. I had thought about a murder mystery themed dinner but doubt there is one suitable for 6 participants.

Any thoughts - no smut or perversion please Grin

We have had friends round to have a mass session in 'lips' or 'singstar' on the consoles, its a lot of fun.

I think you CAN get a murder mystery for 6. Have you tried Amazon?

You could have a quiz, or play some games (have you seen Cranium ? Hilarious!

hmc · 16/12/2010 14:19

Yep - we've got Wii dance and also singstar, could be a goer!

hmmm that wasn't a very good link, see here

Or you could do a home made version of Pictionary, you would need an easel, a pile of cards with words on, an egg timer... and off you go!

Articulate (the game) is funny especially if you've had a few drinks.

We like Pass the Bomb as well.

hmc · 16/12/2010 14:23

Thanks Pookamoo Smile

Oh and you were right about Amazon Blush - I see they do have 'Death by Chocolate' for 6-8 players.

Hadn't thought about Cranium or Pictionary - I totally lurve pictionary

Sidge - we also have pass the bomb, have always played it with dc's and had overlooked the potential of 6 drunk adults playing it Grin

hmc it is brilliant with drunken adults! The potential for hilarity is vast Xmas Grin

There's a game like Pictionary but with modelling clay so you make rather than draw the clue but I can't remember what it's called. That has potential too!

timetomove · 16/12/2010 14:33

it is called rapidough

Sidge · 16/12/2010 14:34

Ah thanks timetomove I may have to look out for that!

pookamoo · 16/12/2010 14:34

ooh what's "pass the bomb" ?

We had a thing when we were students which was a plastic thing with loads of buttons and knobs and it used to say "flip it" "spin it" and you had to do what it said before the time ran out... very good fun after a couple of glasses of wine with friends!
This is it: bop it

(actually, Elefun is great after a couple of glasses of wine with friends, but maybe not!!) Grin

pookamoo Pass the Bomb is great fun - you have to pass the bomb around as you name a word containing the letters on the card, you can't pass the bomb until you've said a valid word. The loser is the one holding the bomb as it explodes!
