Snacks (crisps and nuts) ordered being delivered saturday
Food ordered and being picked up on Saturday 4.30pm
Sweeties for pick and mix table bought
cutlery and napkins sorted
Bowls sorted
barman booked (neighbours teenage son)

Plan of action
DH out at football saturday morning when Waitrose and Sainsbury's delivery comes.
DH out with the boys Saturday afternoon choosing Christmas tree whilst I change some beds and titivate the house
first guests arriving 5.30
they take him to the pub 6-7
he comes back and gets changed (and hopefully doesn't notice rearragned furniture)
local guests arrive 7.30

What have I forgotten/ tips for smooth running of saturday / saturday night?

Ah yes, the cake,.... welllllll that is a bit of a problem at the moment but it should be sorted by tomorrow night.
the cake is cooked but I have NO inspiration about what to do with it.
want it to look like an elegant gentleman's cake rather than novelty cake.

The only other thing I am doing this evening is sourcing lemon and chocolate mousse recipe's that I can make friday night as I am not going to be able to do them on Saturday.
