Ds is obsessed with trains and cats - would like to make a cake that combine the two. Think I might cheat and buy a cat biscuit. Anyone made a cake train - top tips needed please

Easiest train is one which uses ready-made cakes.

Swiss roll for engine body, half another swiss roll at one end for cab. Mini roll and choc bomb for funnels. Cut several more swiss rolls in half for trucks, sit on top of rolls for wheels. Filing the trucks with different types pf sweets - dolly mixtures in one, jelly babies in another etc - looks good. Matchmakers underneath for track.

Thanks Gherkin - that seems to be the way to go

Chateau - that is so funny....I am buying him a dressing up cat outfit so he can wear while playing with his train set!

Santa - love that tin, but not the price...never been to a lakeland - not sure where they are in London

I love it but wouldn't know where to begin. I'm a fan of the no-bake cakes Grin
