M&S or Waitrose for birthday cake?

I'm wondering who's best for a birthday cake.

DD is 5 on Tuesday and it's her party next Saturday, we've invited her class and a few other pals.
So we need a cake that would feed about 40 - I would have made it myself but I do not trust my ancient oven (inherited with house last year)

I've also seen that M&S have mini hot dogs and mini burgers, think they would go down well / better than sandwiches?

My intention was to do purely the party, jelly and ice-cream then a cake, but then realised the time (1 til 3) is kind of lunch time, so something a little more substantial is in order!

I'd say that most will have had an early lunch (12ish) as you'd expect to play for an hour, then food at 2ish so you can stick to snack if you like.

I prefer Waitrose party food, and M&S cake.

M&S cake is excellent.

Have had cakes from both and they've both been good. So I'd go for whoever does the design you like best.

I've had a Waitrose birthday cake for children and it was the best cake for taste and numbers. Was expensive, but well worth the money.

Thank you. The hot-dog idea is going down very well!

Waitrose have a fab princess/Barbie cake - would def feed 40. £50 and it is beautiful - a real bargain. And a Barbie to keep after.

I plumped for a traybake in the end, piped happy birthday on it. It all got eaten anyhow!
