We're having a 1st birthday party at home, not many children being invited mainly adults???
Any hints and tips???
Do I have games for the children that are coming? (They are all different ages)?
Should I have party bags? Do I put a start and finish time on the invite??

Argh!! Help!!

The birthday child will not know it is their birthday, or understand the concept of birthdays.

DO what you want, but yes, put the start time on, so people know when to come.

Oops yes a start time would be helpful!!

I think I was more concerned about being restrictive by putting an end time.

Just want my lil' boy to have a happy day surrounded by people who love him (how soppy does that sound!)

We've had several of this kind of party - we don't put an end time on the invites. I usually do a couple of party games but not a whole afternoon's worth but this is also because there tend to be older kids who enjoy them. I always do party bags cos I love doing them but don't think anyone would expect them or games for a 1st birthday party.
