How about this for an alternative to party bags?

Party Bags Save Lives

I did look to see if this has already been posted but nothing came up. According to the facebook group, they've raised nearly 500 nets!

I'm really into helping the developing countries and think this is a really good idea. But is it wrong to be a bit concerned that it could be seen as a bit 'worthy' by the other mums? Blush

Sorry but I see this as the same as the giving a goat for christmas present etc.

Give to charity fantastic - but don't give, by 'depriving' someone else.

If you like that idea, say no presents thank you but please donate the cash you'd spend on a present to your favourite charity. You know more has been given to charities, and it's your family that 'loses out'.

crikey, they should take out a big advert on mumsnet.

I'd find it v worthy but depends on your 'hood, innit.

Either give a party bag or don't.

AT least with a goat, you'd accept an adult to be brave and not look at you in stunned amazement.

expect. Dunno what's wrong with me

It's not a registered charity just working with the againstmalaria foundation which is a registered charity that you could just donate to instead.
