Help!! Party ideas for bus mad 5yo

I've investigated hiring a party bus but as we live in the back end of nowhere this has proved to not be an option, so I'm considering holding a bus themed party at home. I'm a party novice though and all my inspiration has up and left, so any ideas would really be appreciated! DS has also requested a cake in the shape of a bendy bus. I can probably manage the bus bits, but what could I use to make the bend??

TIA

liquorice for the bendy bits?

Could you get lots of cardboard boxes and have a make your own bus game (paints, pencil, crayons, sticky stuff) for the party goers - then tie them on with string and have them wear them for the games?

After the news of another one combusting this week, surely it's where you cluster the candles?

How about playing musical chairs with the chairs placed in pairs behind each other, like the children are sitting on the bus? Cut out some cardboard circles with a hole in the middle, to represent steering wheels. The children could run around driving their bus. Then when the music stops it could be like musical statues.

Pin the number on the bus (or steering wheel or driver)
Bus stops - basically musical chairs but say or decorate each chair as a bus stop.
Bus Driver Says (Instead of Simon Says) perhaps using bus related orders, e.g. turn the wheel, honk the horn, drive forward, reverse

sing the wheels on the bus

use music of 'wheels on bus'for pass the parcel

make bus tickets as party invitations

collect small boxes, bottle tops etc, provide paint in the colours of your local buses and get them to junk model buses as an activity?
