How many times do you go upstairs?

After my dcs are in bed, my ds1 will shout really loudly for me to come back up to bring him water (if I've forgotten), change the CD story over and over or for a hug.

Last night this happened 9 times. It's getting on my nerves.

I tell him it's the last time I'm coming up but he just shouts and shouts and wakes up his sister or the baby.

Aaaargh. I feel sorry for him because he might be scared but he's got a nightlight, lovely stories, open door and all that.

What's reasonable and how do you stop them from yelling like that?

How old is he?

My ds has phases of doing this, usually if he is having trouble falling asleep. Its very annoying, especially if I am trying to watch Eastenders .

We have...

I want more milk..
I need the landing light on..
I need another cuddle...
Daddy didn't kiss me goodnight..(he alsways has)

Depending on what mood I am in I either just go along with it, each time saying "go to sleep" or i shout "Go TO SLEEP" from the bottom of the stairs. I would say the first tactic usually has the quickest result.

Went out like a light tonight though.

Mine come down if they want something which isn't very often at all. They get sent back up pretty quickly!
