ok, I have an invitation - the venue looks very plush

As an ambassador of MN, what should I ask

a) the Pampers reps
b) Mel C
c) the 'play expert'

if I get the chance?

keep it polite please...

(info re junket 'playdate' here...)

Erm please can I start it off without getting shouted at or my post deleted?

I do wish you luck with this trial. Across the water and here there are many complaints of leaks and parents believe that their babies have had a serious extreme skin reaction to the DryMax that is in Pampers New Baby and Active Fit products as I am sure you are well aware. You may also know that a group of parents met with P&G on 2nd of July and met a team from Pampers who dismissed complaints.

Perhaps you could ask the Pampers Team about the following study on Dry Max that is just out today(and I am sure they will read the question here for you so will come armed with the answers lol)FYI "Cruisers" in the states are similar but not quite the same as our Active Fit but it is still about Dry Max.

ooh, nice trial [adds to reading pile]

I'll also be mentioning the latest Environment Agency report on reusables vs disposables and the possibility of nappy recycling

lol Mrs Badger

I guess they have massive International/European enviromental targets to meet and they will of course say they are reaching them by Active Fit having 20% less of everything including power (but nothing back to the consumer, 20% less packaging, shipping and delivery costs blah but that does not work when you have to use twice as many nappies (going into landfil) as I found in my own personal experiance and many hundreads of other parents have due to leaks within an hour of being on my daughter.

Do you think they would entertain nappy recycling? They wont even put a small disclaimer on the packaging (we asked in the meeting) along the lines of should sensitivity take place dis-continue use. But no ...wait for it..... there is no room on the packaging was the reply. Wow that really is a company that puts babies safety first [shocked] I have found that a health board in another conuntry ordered P&G to add a disclaimer a while back - interesting huh

Please could you also ask them how they get SAP (the balls that take up all the weight of the wee) into a format that allows them to "print" the SAP chemical onto the nappy core and liner. I meant to ask this at our meeting but Aimee from P&G PR cut me off in mid sentance and moved the conversation around.

Any way as I said good luck with it and I hand on heart sincerely hope your baby does not react to theDry Max tecnology, which obviously is ground breaking technology but in my opinion not enough research has been done on all skin types. Many parents have stated that they feel like their babies have been used as Guinea pigs.

Wtf has Mel C got to do with it?

MrsBadger · 10/07/2010 10:20

celeb endorsement I guess
In the US similar 'Pampers Playdates' have invited Joel Madden, Benji Madden, Gilles Marini, Bethenny Frankel, Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans, none of whom I've heard of

Too funny!! I thought you were going to take the 2 packs of nappies of either New Baby or Active Fit (and the £40 goodie bag , then report back on Mumsnet how you found them the nappies to be on your baby.

lol I would like to know what Mel C has to do to it too could it just be for PR lol

I personally would like to see at least 2 Independant companies do blind testing on all skin types of these nappies, rather than put to chance and as P&Gs paid family GP said at our meeting(but said he had his own independant views!)that some skin types were "a time bomb waiting to happen" (extreame skin reactions). He had just been talking to a mum whos baby had had oozing open sores and her Doctors report confirmed by means of a swob test that it elimiated a thrush infection.

Where is Mumsnetter leavingonajetplane when I need her?

I would really have loved to attend this "event"!

Imarriedafrog - I hope you do still go - sounds like you could have a lot of fun!
