Ds has a grey waterproof with stars on from next. It's nicely lined so not sweaty iyswim. Think it only goes up to 5yo but next sizes are pretty generous I think.
The hood definately stays up

maybe look in millets for one with elastic in hood so can pull it tight.

See that Joules one is gorgeous and exactly the type but I need waterproof-outdoorsy family. It says it's showerproof but.....tempted but dp would probably kill me.

Why don't they do decent outdoors stuff that is bright and cheerful?

Togz Wellie weather. Sorry I can't do links. They are boring navy blue but have lots of exciting velcro bits and the best hoods.The waterproof dungarees are fab too.
