Stealing food

DS2 has started stealing food the last couple of weeks....tonight found 2 bannanas under his pillow.

None of the other DC's has ever had this problem and I have no clue how to tackle it.

He has snacks and meals all through the day so I have no idea why he does it.

How old is he?

I'm afraid I still haven't won this one against DS1 (who is 9yrs old now),

However - I thought I'd better warn you that there will be a contingent along at some point who will argue that they can't steal food from their own house - so just be "on guard" and ready for it when they arrive

Nearly 4.
I was pretty sure someone would say that anyway toccatanfudge....but it's still stealing whatever anyone says

Try 'finding' it in front of him and calmly saying "Oh what are these doing here. Could you pop them back into the fruit bowl for me? If you are hungry just let me know and you can have one."

My DD2 hides things under her bed and I make a point of finding them when she's around. I think it helps but it's hard to tell.

Sorry, should just add it could be a repsonse to something worrying him so make lots of opportunities to chat and spend time doing things together in case he wants to share something.
