A VERY DULL QUESTION about soak vs prewash!

My washing machine has both a 30min soak program and a prewash program. Both can be added to a 60, 40 or 30 degree wash. In terms of nappy-washing, would it be better to use a soak or a prewash? Or neither?! My machine is a John Lewis (AEG) integrated and gives great results, but am wondering if dirty nappies are likely to need the additional soak or prewash? Thanks!

I never soak or prewash my nappies, they come up fine in a normal wash.
Occassionally dirty nappies that have been left a little too long still had some staining on them, but as long as you can hang them out in the sun then once they're dry they are shining white again.

I have never soaked or prewashed either. A normal wash at 40 is fine

I just do a rinse before washing which seems to work well.

I never soak or use a prewash. I sometimes rinse with a little detergent before the main wash -- makes a big difference in terms of final residual smell (and is faster than my prewash programme).

I only worry about killing germs, and then only on the dirties. So I wash them at 60 or at 30 using Napisan (always using Bio powder). hth.
