Hi all,

Official advice seems to be that water for under 1's should be boiled than cooled.

I've been finding this a real nusiance, but chatting to a couple of mums recently of similarly ages dc's and they just use water straight from the tap.

Any advice welcome as to if boiling is really necessary. We have a problem free mains supply.

Thanks Katy

We used water from tap from 6 months. If you think what they put in their mouths from the floor on a daily basis I'd think tap water is the least of your worries!

I boiled then cooled it for DS1 until he was one, DS2 (10 months) has no such luxury.... and to be honest I feel a bit daft that I did it for DS1 now!

Tap water is fine, no need to boil it and the NHS advice agrees here
