Crap on wrap...inevitable?

I'm using terry squares with a variety of wraps including Motherease Rikki. All is well, save for when DD explodes and poo gets all over the inside of the wrap (regardless of fold). No biggie I guess and the wraps have been brilliant at stopping poo leaking onto clothing, but I do worry about the wraps getting stained as I am dry pailing. Sun bleaching has been brilliant so far, but with the winter coming on I need to minimise the damage IYSWIM.

So, does this all sound normal?? Is crap on wrap par for the course? Would very much appreciate your experiences of this.

IME it is to be expected. I've always used shaped nappies and never been able to prevent this happening from time to time.

You will find that it gets better as she gets older - how old is she now?

Thanks...she's only 5 months and still ebf, so fortunately her poo is still sweet! I assume as she moves onto solids things will improve?

Yeah pretty normal. Once poos start to get a bit more solid as she gets onto food it will calm down.

Hehe good and as I said the wraps DO stop poo from leaking onto clothes, which is more than can be said for the disposablrs I was using before I saw the cloth light .

Any tips on destaining pooey wraps most welcome (short wash cycle 60 degrees with eco powder and miofresh nappy sanitiser at the mo).

I don't bother doing anything much I'm afraid, just hang them out when possible. Stains just build up a bit more in the winter then go as soon as the better weather comes.

also in the winter the sunlight is still there even if you cant see it shining brightly. i found putting my wraps/nappies on the line first thing (5am) worked really well.

...or leave them over night if your baby doesnt wake up that early rofl
