Holiday to Sri Lanka without children??

My DH and I have been invited to a wedding in Sri Lanka in November and I'm having a nightmare deciding whether to go or not.
My DS1 will be 3 and a half then and DS2 will be 11 months.
I live in the Netherlands and so they would have to go to their Nana's in London then we'd fly from there.
I know they will have a great time there but I've never left DS1 for longer the 2 nights (and then he was with DH)and never left DS2 at all. I'm really just worried about being so far away and being in a 'not so stable' country - oh and leaving my precious boys!!
I'm wondering if anyone can ofer me any advise. Anyone done the same, think I'm crazy even concidering it.. etc etc. We'd be gone a week and the wedding is in Colombo the Capital.
Dh will go without me anyway if I wimp out but I've got to decide soon!!!!
HELP!!

Do it! Especially if they are staying with family you trust... I'm in the same boat. DS1 will be 2.9 and DS2 exactly a year old in November and I am planning to take DH to Japan for a week-long trip as a surprise 30th birthday present. My ILs have just agreed to take the boys and I've just got the time off work for DH as well. Just need to book the air tickets very, very soon. I know it's hard (hence I am still holding off on booking the tickets!) but I think you should do it. It will also be beneficial to your relationship with your DH to have some nice relaxing time alone with him having had two children so close together taking up your time and emotions. Good luck!

P.S. DS2 has only been left once overnight with the ILs and he was fine.
