I've just heard that Bumgenius V3 are to be discontinued but they are keeping very quiet about what exactly will be replacing it!
Anyone know any more?
News will be announced on 29th June apparently but I'm quite impatient!

I got this today also and they are keeping it very guarded as to whats going to be in its place. I personally love the V3 and its by far my best seller so i am intrigued. I have reduced all my stock 20% and i expect other places will also be ridding of stock so id enjoy a bargain while you can!

Nappyzone - I don't know what you mean about e-mailing via the webby (not usually this computer illiterate - just not that up to speed with all the mumsnet stuff!).

I can just order it via your website if you still have plenty of BGs left...?

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 24/06/2010 21:22

yes of course do that - there is a contact me link on the home page of the website thats all and we could have arranged a bank transfer rather than awaiting paypal blessing for you.

Mammamia2 · 24/06/2010 21:58

Was really really shocked by this, they must be mad to discontinue as they are such a good product.

FlipFantasia · 25/06/2010 18:24

Oh no! I love my BG V3s and was thinking I'd definitely get more if we ever had more DC. Smac let me know what's replacing them (and if you're doing any discounted stock!).

Pingpong · 25/06/2010 20:18

Hi Flip yes we have a 20% discount on our Bum genius v3s. .
They are so popular I really can't understand why they would change them. I even tried doing some research on the US site to see if there were any clues there but no. Will have to wait til the 29th. . . . .

How many would you recommend for mainly daytime use to begin with? We don't have a tumble dryer but do have a heated dryer thing!

Pingpong · 27/06/2010 16:36

Hi MrsC
I would say 15 nappies is the least amount you can start with as less than that you don't have any spare while the rest are in the wash or you end up doing half loads of washing just so you have clean nappies to use.
How old is your baby? Newborns use a lot nappies and then it calms down a bit.
BG dry pretty quickly as you separate the nappy part from the pocket insert. I have never tumbled mine - I either line dry or put the pocket bit in the airing cupboard over night and the nappy part on the airer.
BG v3 aren't great for night time use, they are quite slim fitting so there is not much space to put in lots of extra boosters for night time use but they are very popular for daytime use as they dry easily, are easy to use and are slim fitting and of course are birth to potty so one size fits all.

I have 15 and that has always been just enough for washing every 2 days (very occasionally ahd to use disposables if I hadn't quite been on top of washing). About to have DC2 and thinking of getting a few extra this time to give me leeway on the washing. If they're discounted, then I have no excuse

Wondering what they will replace them with though as V3 is fab. Mine have done 2.3 years with DS, and are still in great condition so I expect them to last the whole time DD is in nappies too which will make them bargainous. Had hardly any leak issues - definitely better than dispies when I've used those on holiday - and no real nappy rash problems. They're fab!

Pingpong · 28/06/2010 16:58

I have a feeling that there won't be a lot of difference as the product is so popular but they may introduce new colours or patterns or tweak it a little so they can relaunch and generate more interest. . . . not long til we find out!

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 28/06/2010 17:48

Do you have a website as well SMAC? Where in the world are ya? We is in the north east. I do like the minky wonderoos

Pingpong · 28/06/2010 17:59

yes we have a website here.
We are in West Wales and are fairly new.
I've just placed an order for some new minky wonderoos and I'm going to try one of the new real easies as well - you know for research purposes!

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 28/06/2010 18:58

The minky wonderoos are really lovely and far more competetively priced to blueberrys me thinks - my niece has been sent one to test but i think my sil has just been stroking it alot! - the khaki and citrus spots are my fave. The insert was not what i expected. Feel free to drop me a line if you ever get stuck for anything . I will wander of to nosey at your site now.........

Pingpong · 28/06/2010 21:09

cheers nappyzone I've got 2 in nappies so I wash a lot don't need to recruit extra testers !
I'm going for the minky summer flowers. Most of the nappies I bought for number 1 were unisex just in case number 2 was a boy but now I have 2 girls I'm going a bit more girly in my choices!

So what was the news yesterday?

mumface · 30/06/2010 14:31

BG Version 4, choice of new improved velcro or poppers, replaceable leg elastic, bigger sizing and 3 new very wishy washy pastel shades called noodle, bubble and sweet. Looks exactly the same as the old one and same inserts.

Pingpong · 30/06/2010 14:37

Three new colours introduced:
Bubble = light lavender, Sweet = pale green, Noodle = light yellow.

The velcro has been improved and poppers will also be available.

They have made them so they will fit larger babies as well and the elasticated bit can be accessed and replaced if they get worn

Think that is it!

The new v4's will not be available until July 14th.
