9 month old pinching

Help!

DD is 9 months and has recently mastered her pincer grip. She is now pinching everyone and everything.

Any tips on how to get her to stop because it is really quite painful and I am worried about her hurting other children at our baby groups, I have to follow her around anyway as she is very mobile but even so pinching might happen before I get to her in time.

I currently remove her hand and say No firmly but she carries on regardless, is there anything else I can do with a 9 month old?!

My DS went through this at a similar age but don't recall it lasting long though - nor the biting

No tips I'm afraid other than what you are already doing. Hope somebody else comes along with a few!

DD is similar (10 months), I keep her nails short to reduce the pain, say no and then remove her hand. She's too young to really understand so there's not much else you can do.

I'm not sure if it helps or not, but DD loves practicing her dexterity so I often give her grated cheese to pick up off her high chair tray. I'm hoping the more she does this the less she'll pinch as she's already 'pinched' out picking up the cheese!!

I like that idea! She loves peas so often has those to pick up off her tray.
