I wasn't aware that 'by nature women tend to be more competitive than men'. I think genernalised statements like that tell you all you need to know about the quality of that particular survey! Poor standards of the BBC for even running the shit story.

So, let me get this right:

61% don't brag
75% don't always try to be the most organised
80% didn't care if their DC was first to be potty-trained
73% did not crash diet
81% don't try to be the best dressed
80% don't go on about their perfect DH
61% don't feel like a failure

Of course, it's true of some mothers. Someone from my antenatal group wished me 'Congratulations on the tooth!' when DS cut his first one, earlier than most of the babies.
