Finding myself echoing my mother in telling DS1 he is standing too close to the telly ... does anyone know if there has been any research on how close is too close? What sort of limits do you apply?

I remember reading that you shouldn't be nearer than three times the width of the screen, I don't know if this was ever true or if it applies to todays tvs.
The only limit I apply with my dcs is that they should not be between me and the screen!
I doubt they would stand there for long enough to do any damage anyway also as I'm sat at a pupose built computer desk and my face is probably one width away from the screen it's probably nothing to worry about

Read that it does not matter how close to the TV you site as it is a myth that it damages your eyes, but I do not let mine sit closer then 6ft or so

So it's another lie we've been feed probably so we didn't put sticky fingers on the screen
