Bum Genius leg elastic too tight?

Just started using the BGs - I put them on as loose as they will go without there being visible gaps around legs. When nappy comes off there are fairly deep red marks where the elastic sits. I wasn't too concerned as to me it looks no worse than eg the red marks she gets on her face when she falls asleep in sling with face resting om my shirt.

However DP is very concerned about it and is thinking about going back to disposables which leave a narrower mark, and have softer elastic.

(I like the firmer elastic of the BGs as it means I don't need to change her clothes after every poo)

Can you give me any reassurance/tips?

No tips but charges were like this when they were brand new, after a couple of wears and washes they were absolutely fine.

Just keep at them and they should sort themselves out!

Also, I have heard that BGs suit skinnier thighed babies (becasue of the smaller leg holes/tighter elastic), while tots bots suit chunkier thighed babies.. could you buy a few tots bots all in ones to try? If you have only just started using BGs, I guess you have not washed many yet so could swap/return?

tell him the chemicals being put against the babies skin from disposables are so much worse then a few red marks

seriously tho, after a few washes the elastic may soften up bit, if not try a side snapping sized pocket, they have independent leg and waist fastening.

Put it on a different rise setting? maybe you need to set them on the next poppers but do the velcro up tighter?
