Outer Wrap of reusable rubbing DS. What do I do?!

Hiya

I brought Lollipop Fleece Cloths for DS but had to wait til 7 weeks old for him to fit in them. DS is a complete wriggle bum and is constantly on the fidget and when in the reusables the outer wrap (also from lollipop) is rubbing him really badly and he is getting red marks on his legs and back and its making him miserable. To the point where we have to put him back in pampers.

Is this normal? And if not what can I do? I've shelled out a fair bit of money for these nappies and I'm not sure I can resell them even if they're unused.

I haven't used Lollipop nappies myself, but they certainly shouldn't be rubbing. Can you losen them at all to prevent it? (The wrap shouldn't need to be really tight to cover the nappy and prevent wicking) Alternatively, maybe you could consider buying different wraps to go over the Lollipop nappies. I have always been happy with my Motherease wraps and I use them over various different nappies.

I had this a bit at first until I managed to adjust the wraps better so they weren't so tight. You would be surprised how loose they can be whilst keeping them dry - looser than I had realised at first.

DS did seem to be irritated by the Onelife wraps I had (red marks) but has been fine in Motherease.

Sorry, should have said that I had this problem, but not with Lollipop wraps.

If they are not working for you, you can resell them no probs only ebay won't allow it. There is a section on mumsnet i think. But also clothnappyaddicts and clothnappytree have classifieds sections.

There are so many types of nappies out there now that what works for some people doesnt work for others. Don't be disheartened its just a bit of trial and error.

Are they poppers or velcro? Me personally I hated poppered wraps as my bubs seemed to spend a lot of time being in between settings and so ended up with red marks on the legs. I used velcro wraps with much better sucess. Now we use wool but that is a whole different world!

you could also try pocket nappies which dont require a wrap at all and one one thing to put on a wriggly bubs

And thenappysite, usednappies.co.uk and UKparentslounge and naturalmamas all have classified sections too.
