Mothers of daughters can I ask what is probably a stupid question.

I was changing DD age 9months nappy today when I noticed she has quite a few long white hairs on her vagina they are very light and thin but some are nearly a cm long is this normal ds never had anything like that on his genitals.

My DD has some very fine, light, downy hairs in that area, they sound similar to what you're describing (maybe not a CM long but still a few MM) - can't say they've ever worried me.

They look like mine did just before I got pubic hair that is why I was concerned. Probably am being silly though.

My DD is now 9 and has pale downy hair in that region ever since she was very young. You're not being silly, just a concerned mum. To be honest- I do think that it is probably entirely normal. If you're really worried you could ask your health visitor. I'm sure they would reassure you.

Thanks we have had the odd v early starter in my family so probably being over concerned. Thanks a lot to both of you for reassuring me I won't see the hv if you have both had this then it must be normal.

Will the paranoia ever end .
