Acoustic Neuroma

Any other parents of young children (born before or after operation) who have had an acoustic neuroma removed?

I had a large (4cm) AN removed in Jan 2009 and have DS1 3 years and DC2 due any day now(as am currently 40+ 3). Side effects have included leaving me deaf in one ear and facial palsy.

Would be good to know if there are others out there as most AN sufferers I have come across seem to be older.

Hi,

I also had an 4.5cm acoustic neuroma removed 18 months ago, the palsy, the loss of hearing etc. and have two boys (7 and 3) to boot! I am 40, are you still seeking a kindred spirit?

:)

I know this an old post but I had an acoustic neuroma removed twenty years ago when I was 31, my children were three and six at the time. I've got facial palsy, deafness etc

If anyone wants a chat about the AN situation get in touch. There is normal life after AN, I am currently in South America we are sailing round the world, I've added this bit because in the six months after my operations I never even thought I'd be able to drive again let alone do other things!
