£50 budget, what 2nd birthday present to get DD

Hi

My DD turns 2 next month and I can't decide what to get her. Money is a bit tight so don't want to spend more than £50 on presents.

Any ideas?

Hiya, What is she into - does she like role playing ie toy toaster, kettle, tea set etc? If so Asda do a really cheap range (bought my ds (!) a utensils set and a teaset for £5!). Would she like a play kitchen or something for the garden - a tunnel/ball 'pit'? You can get some great secondhand baby things online and from local papers. I love a bargain!
Good luck and enjoy browsing!

You have beat me to it ohsomuchtodo! I would highly recommend a kitchen and food/utensils. Look in your local paper first. And as the summer is coming a paddling pool, Argos do one for about £7.99.

Agree with the idea of a kitchen. Also it is easy for other rels to get something for as well.

My dd is 2 next month as well and we're getting her a mini micro scooter so she can keep up with her big sister! The consensus seems to be that we'll get years of use from it, and I'm always glad of things that don't take up too much space I hated our toy kitchen when dd1 had one, it was barely played with and took up a lot of room that we didn't have

A scooter/balance bike/wheely bug if she doesn't have them.

One of them - not all of them

HurleySatOnMe · 17/05/2010 18:11

O yes, we got a wheely bug at christmas, fab toy

izzybiz · 17/05/2010 18:16

We will be getting Ds a mini micro scooter for his 2nd birthday, he is fab on his sisters at only 19 months! He loves it!

DooWahDiddy · 17/05/2010 20:45

Thanks everyone, lots of good ideas there!

I also have DS age 6 so she has loads of his old stuff including his kitchen.

The mini micro scooters look good I didn't realise they were suitable for such young children.

Another vote for Mini Micro scooter. It has been the best thing we have ever bought our dd. She is 3.5 and still loves it. Am planning on buying ds one for his 2nd birthday so they can go scooting together

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 17/05/2010 23:01

I ordered a mini micro scooter from jojo maman bebe earlier this week for DS's 2nd birthday. I had a search around for a discount code and got 10% off and free delivery which brought it down to around £41.

SalFresco · 17/05/2010 23:05

I got a mini-micro scooter for DS1, he got it for his 3rd birthday, but he could have used it much earlier, they are fantastic and completely worth the money.

ELC have got 3 for 2 on outdoor toys at the moment, and some of them reduced as well - you might be able to get a good deal

KnottyLocks · 17/05/2010 23:18

We bought one of these for DS2. He loves it. It's a good price compared to some of the other 3 wheelers around too.
