leaking huggies nappies

DS2 is now 3.5 weeks old and is exclusively breastfed and is having lots of poos each day. By lots I mean 20+. As a result he has developed nappy rash and I am trying very hard to keep it under control by changing him as often as I can. When I put him down for a sleep I use a very thick layer of metanium to try to protect his bottom. I also was given timodene by GP.

I read somewhere that pampers can contribute to nappy rash so I went out and bought lots of different nappies - sainsburys / boots / tescos and huggies. The own brand ones are fine maybe not quite as absorbent as pampers but considering they are half the price really are very acceptiable.

On the other hand the huggies nappies which are not any cheaper than pampers leak every time I use them. The leaks around around DS2's waist but to the side. Yes I always try and point his willy down and this has not been an issue with any of the other nappies. Is this just us or has anyone else had a problem with this????

Nappies are a bit like jeans - not all makes fit everyone in the same way.

With my DS, pampers leaked and Huggies didn't. My friends little girl leaked in Huggies but not in Pampers. My DD wears Huggies at the moment because Pampers leaked on her too...

It all depends on the shape of your baby I think.
