Only just found out - Nick Clegg is bilingual in Dutch besides speaking a bunch other languages

I'll be dead pleased if my DDs will end up speaking Dutch as well as he does... well done to Nick's mum

[ponders career prospects as mum to PM to be]

Yes, it's good but not sure how much impact it could have on anything, eg not exactly the time to be offering Michael Gove lots of money to try to resurrect modern language teaching which has been allowed to decline horribly. Would be interested to see how many of Cabinet can speak any foreign language at any passable level.

I would be more pleased if the secretary of state for Wales spoke Welsh...

I'm not expecting it to translate into something practical on improving languages - maybe just encouraged to see that speaking different languages doesn't actually hold you back... I've never understood why there is a sort of national pride in Britain about not being able to speak anything but English

Are there any welsh or gaelic speakers in the House at all actually?

Yes, I'm really pleased. Pity it's not Cameron, though, as he will obviously have much more influence. I think some od the scummier newspapers did try and demolish Clegg for being .... foreign.
