We're moving soon and both boys will be sharing a room, does anyone have any suggestions and ideas of what kind of beds will work?

4 year old currently still in his cotbed come toddler bed option so quickly growing out of it and 19 month old in a cot.

I guess 19 month old could take 4 year olds toddler bed but thinking longterm, may as well get them both into decent beds but something that will look nice too iykwim!

TIA

bunks?

ChakraKan · 30/04/2010 17:34

I thought there was a minimum age of 7 for bunks? plus not sure how 4 yo would cope getting down in the night or early morning for a pee! good idea though!

Have you got room to avoid bunkbeds?

There is no minimum age for bunks. I know we live in a nanny state, but I think legislating about what age a child can sleep in a certain bed would be absurd!

I would recommend two matching good quality single beds that are not too babyish so they won't grow out of them. But 19 months is pretty early to be moving out of a cot, so maybe you could buy the matching beds but not assemble one of them for 6 months or so until it's needed.

I like furniture from Aspace. My ds has this bed. They are very good quality and will last.

Try www.pine-design.co.uk their shorty winton bunk is ideal as the bottom bed is lowered to the floor.

My 2yo and 4yo are in standard bunk beds. No problems so far (apart from 2yo sometimes climbing up to the top and getting stuck.
