Running out of space? Baby and 6 year old..

DS is now nearly 6 weeks and DSD is nearly 7 years old and stays with us every other weekend. She has her own room and currently the baby is in with us. We were planning to a) extend the house giving us an extra bedroom or b) sell up and rent a 3 bedroom house however jobwise and finance wise, neither of these options are going to work, so the kids are going to have to share a room at some point, probably when DS is 6 months old. Not a disaster but what would be the best bed-type arrangement? DSD's room is pretty small. Are there bunk beds with cots underneath? At least DSD is happy about sharing a room with her brother although the theory might be better than the practice...

Fab, thanks. The first links didn't work for me but the third did. Definitely food for thought.

My two dc share a room - ds1 is 11 and ds2 15 months. Grandad made ds1 a bed high enough for cot (already in our possession) to fit underneath and it works brilliantly. Steps for bed extend as shelves for ds1's books. Other advice is to have some high ish shelves so you dsd can keep her precious things out of little un's way! It's really not a disaster and can work really well - good luck x
