Hi guys,

Thanks for all your help last time. I've now got a couple of Fuzzis (one size) and a couple of Bumgenius one size. Finding them both great actually. No leaks, although the BG is definitely easier for DH. Even I am still a bit confused by the poppers on the FB. Also like the ability to adjust the rise.

Anyway, I see BG are offering 20% off and am wondering whether to get some more one size or a couple of flips.

What do people think of the Flip? TBH, I won't use the disposable inserts, which I think is their big thing. Also, are they harder to assemble (in that you have to do it as you put the nappy on, not leave something nice and neat for childcare/DH). I am attracted to the idea of a separate cover - which is one of the things I liked about the ittis. I never had many shells.

Thanks in advance. I think I'm confusing myself!

Oooh another Octo!

I would check out the following retailers for RNW

Cheeks and Cherries
BabyBots
Peachytots
GreenJelly
Lizzies Real Nappies
JabulaBaby
Nappy Garden

There are loads with offers on - 20% off bumgenius is standard at all retailers as far as I can tell.

I would go for more one size.

HTH

aherm RNW stuff going on too.

I have just done with testing theflip and whilst im not really in to the disposo element you can use i can see its place - anyhows i found the stay dry version good - my new little niece approved anyway.

Hi confused FTM,

Also a first time mum and am just starting with reusables with my (small skinny) 12week old DD. I've had a few 'cycles' through my rather small stash so am ready to splurge so I'm not always running out. For what it's worth, I've really liked the two flips (and 6 organic inserts) that I bought and will be getting quite a few more. I like that they are not so bulky, and I think they are very easy for other people to use. Also very quick to dry.

I've also been trying out a few of the close modern baby dry pop ins, they have done great and are a bit softer in a cuddly way, though a lot more comedy bulkier on my little one.

Hope that helps!

i see you have green kids nappies on offer - i have to say i'm quite tempted! how do they compare to bumgenius v3, do you reckon? i'm going to buy some more nappies this week anyway, have been using bg for a while & get on with them really well, apart from them not quite lasting overnight sometimes.

confusedfirsttimemum · 26/04/2010 07:34

Hi everyone.

bishbosh - Sorry, I probably should have said in my OP. DD is one now, so the bulk issue isn't a big one for us (although, if they last well, may well use these for subsequent DC). Thanks for your comments. Good to know that they are easy.

nappyzone - how easy is the Flip to assemble when, say, attempting to stop a one year old from climbing off a high changing table in a cafe toilet (so some such). I do like the fact that the BG are 'ready to go' in that respect.

Any other views - BG one size or Flip?

becksydee - im a big fan of the greenkids - loved the minkytimes and funtimes and found fuuntimes ok for summer frolicking but being cotton laminated not as good as the minkytimes and anytimes - combined with a bamboo insert and some boosters these are easily fillable for overnighters too.

Confused - the flip is easy to put together - your laying the insert on top and under the flaps rather than into the pocket. I think the onesize has the edge slightly but then thats what im used to using - pockets.

nappyzoneloveslindor · 26/04/2010 12:27

I suppose for in action situations yes the bg or any other p ocket is already loaded to go.

becksydee · 26/04/2010 21:20

thanks for the info, nappyzone.

i think you might have twisted my arm (cos it needed a lot of twisting, obviously) - expect an order as soon as i've decided which colours to get

nappyzoneloveslindor · 26/04/2010 21:25

becksydee i know it says bamboo inserts outof stock but they should be here in next 2 days if not tomorow - they have been held up with the volcano business - there is a moo cow minkytime coming with them i hope

becksydee · 26/04/2010 21:43

oops, ordered before i saw this! think i'll give them a try with the inserts i've got hanging around here first, i might come back to you in a few weeks though

can't wait to get hold of them, will have to contrive lots of situations in which DS can show off his lovely zebra-striped cloth bum

nappyzoneloveslindor · 26/04/2010 21:58

ooo it is you - i will send tomorow first class and resist the urge to be tight

becksydee · 26/04/2010 22:18

thank you!
