5yo has just told me that he dropped some Lego down the loo day before yesterday.

He says he fished it out with his bare hands and "dried it off".
"Did you wash your hands afterwards?".
".No".

Is he going to get some awful stomach bug now?

Was there anything in the toilet at the time (apart from the lego obviously).

I should think if he was going to be ill it would have happened by now.

I love how they confess to these things days afterwards.. bet its been playing on his little mind. Oh to have such worries hey?

Doubt he'll be ill, im sure he's done worse that you dont know about

I agree, he would have got it by now if he was going to get anything.

Or it could have been yesterday. There was nothing in the loo at the time. God knows where that piece of lego is - it's disappeared back into the box, I can only hope his 13 mo brother hasn't had it in his hands too. I guess I do need to disinfect it all?!

my children always said "yesterday" for anything that happened in the past. It could have been a month ago!

dump all the lego into the sink with hot water and washing up liquid, good scrub, then rinse and dump in a bucket of milton. done.

If the loo was clean, I really wouldn't worry. Even if the loo had wee in I wouldn't worry. What is it they say- most people's loos are cleaner than their dishcloths. I think there is a lot of truth in that. He'd only get an awful stomach bug if someone has been using the toilet who also has one/ is incubating one.

P.s kids eat their own boggies... toilet water no issue.
